GEM(2) Frontline Recognition Initiative Announced: Compass Group, Support Services Celebrates its Frontline Associates

WAYNE, Pa., Aug. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- The support services division of Compass Group, including Crothall Healthcare, Eurest Services, and SSC Service Solutions, recently announced the creation of a ground-breaking recognition initiative for its frontline associates called GEM², or Great Employees Make Magic. The initiative seeks to recognize and reward hourly associates based on measurable criteria chosen by a task force as hourly key performance indicators (KPIs).

SVP of Human Resources Raj Pragasam hopes that the GEM² initiative will help the company's people on the frontlines realize their importance to the company. "The criteria we are measuring and rewarding form a strong foundation for our onsite teams: Customer Service, Safety, Company Values, Quality, and Attendance. This initiative will embrace 85% of our people and give them a better sense of what we expect from them as well as what level of service will be recognized and rewarded."

The GEM of the Month at each healthcare, education, or business and industry full-service location will be recognized and rewarded in front of their peers. At the end of the year, one GEM will be chosen to be Account GEM of the Year.  Account GEMs will also be considered for higher level awards including Regional and Divisional GEMs of the Year. Divisional GEMs will also act as ambassadors for the GEM initiative's adopted charities, including children's hospitals.
