Iowa Lodging Association honors Coralville hotel manager Bryan Stolz as part of its Star Award Program

CORALVILLE, Iowa, Nov. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Iowa Lodging Association has presented its Hotelier of the Year award to the general manager of Coralville Marriott Hotel & Conference Center.

Bryan Stolz, who has held his current position for two years, was chosen for his outstanding leadership abilities and commitment to the well-being of hotel guests. He was selected for this award from dozens of nominees across the state.

The staff at Coralville Marriott Hotel & Conference Center nominated Stolz for his ability to lead team members in the right direction.

"When Bryan sees a manager 'shine' in a particular area, he is quick to give them recognition," reads Stolz's nomination letter. "If Bryan sees an area of weakness, he steps in to offer guidance."

Stolz was also praised in the nomination letter for his background in revenue management, which has led to significant growth for the hotel near Iowa City. His balanced approach and willingness to employ new strategies resulted in a remarkable 27 percent increase in gross operating profit from 2014 to 2015. The hotel also prides itself on its guest satisfaction rating, which is in the top 10 percent of Marriott hotels nationally due to the dedication and hospitality of its associates.

He is also the fundraising chairman of the Coralville-North Corridor Rotary Club and an active member of the 100+ Men Who Care: Hawkeye Chapter, a charitable group that works to positively impact the local community.

Three other employees of Coralville Marriott Hotel & Conference Center were nominated for Iowa Lodging Association awards: Alex Whitehall, front desk shift leader, for the Front of the House Star Award; JD Wolff, housekeeping supervisor, for Back of the House Star Award; and Katelynn Oberbroeckling, event manager, for the Department Manager Star Award.
