Generic Plavix® to Arrive at All Walmart and Sam's Club Pharmacies on May 19

BENTONVILLE, Ark., May 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Walmart (NYSE: WMT) announced today that it will be among the first retailers to offer Clopidogrel, the generic version of Plavix®. Clopidogrel will be available at all Walmart and Sam's Club pharmacies on May 19.

Clopidogrel is the latest of the thousands of generic medications Walmart offers, allowing Americans to access quality, effective medication alternatives for a more affordable price.

Walmart also offers hundreds of prescriptions at $4 for a 30-day supply and $10 for a 90-day supply through its Affordable Prescription Program(i), and has saved Americans more than $4.8 billion on their prescriptions since the program launched in 2006(ii).
