NEW YORK, Feb. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Celebrating the joyful essence of New Orleans with classic cocktails and a laissez-faire ambiance, Gentilly Kitchen + Bar will open its doors on February 23rd, bringing the best of the South to the North.

Blackwood Hospitality is excited to introduce Gentilly to Carmine Street in the West Village. Inspired by the melting pot of styles and the easygoing vibes of New Orleans, Gentilly is the result of pairing the flair and flavor of New Orleans' famed culinary and cocktail scene with the energy and excitement of New York City. In keeping with tradition, Gentilly serves up authentic dishes rooted in French and Creole culture with a modern twist.

Locals of New Orleans say that food is the inspiration for the quintessential magic of their culture. In fact, restaurateur, Andre Neyrey, owner of Gentilly and President and CEO of Blackwood Hospitality, hails from that historical town.

"New Orleans has its own spirit - blending soulful musicians, cutting-edge chefs, and southern traditions," says Neyrey. "I wanted to bring a part of my NOLA home to my adopted home of New York City."
