Get Paid to Compete - Professionalizing Sport Martial Arts, for Black Belts Only
COLUMBIA, S.C., May 22, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- With the aim of professionalizing sport martial arts to the level of competition of a major league sport, the National Martial Arts League calls out to martial artists to participate in the first-ever Team Eliminations Event, scheduled July 19 to 22, 2012 at the Columbia Marriott, Columbia, South Carolina.
The National Martial Arts League or NMAL is a nationwide league which seeks to establish its global presence soon through its active efforts in promoting all martial arts styles. The one-on-one Kumite where the karatekas spar against each other as competitive adversaries has catapulted many known personalities into worldwide recognition. This fact highlights the considerable public interest bestowed in this form of competition.
Watching how competitors react and adapt to each other in a ringed area is a very exciting spectacle that people of all ages can appreciate. Martial art is indeed an art that emphasizes skill and discipline. The individual and collective performance of participants is a tribute to the effectiveness of their teachers and coaches.
Martial arts schools will have the chance to showcase what they have to offer by joining this competition. Participation will provide a clear assessment of where individual schools stand in relation to their capabilities of teaching the fine art of physical combat. This is also a chance to get paid to compete, an opportunity which is not always available to martial arts competitors.
NMAL is looking to find the best teams that will fill up the 32 much sought-after league opportunities in Columbia, South Carolina. Each team must be composed of 15 members, 13 of which are competitive positions, while 2 are management positions. The competition is a point-sparring event open to any male or female aged 18 and above, who are black belts in any of the existing kicking martial arts styles. Points awarded will be based on the level of difficulty attached to the execution.
A worthwhile event such as this requires the support of people and industries that truly believe in the relevance of professionalizing martial arts. In connection with this, NMAL invites individuals and companies to sign up for its Sponsorship Program (http://www.thenationalmartialartsleague.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/NMAL_SponsorshipProgram2012.pdf). It believes that there can never be more than enough support for a good cause.
