GiftCards.com™ Goes Main Street with Livermore Downtown Gift Card Initiative

PITTSBURGH, April 9, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- GiftCards.com, the online leader in gift cards, today announced it entered its first local community partnership with Livermore Downtown, a member of the California Main Street Association, to offer Livermore Downtown branded gift cards to drive business to local merchants.

For years, Livermore California's Downtown, Main Street Association has been looking to create a District Gift Card program that would help them provide consumers the ability to give the gift of choice to their gift recipients.  "We looked at other community programs and mall card concepts but none of them really seemed to meet all the criteria we were seeking.  Then we found Giftcards.com!" comments Rachael Snedecor, Executive Director of Livermore Downtown. "Working with their local team, we were able to share our vision for what we needed for our community and together created a gift card program that is affordable and easy for our businesses to participate in," she added.   The Livermore Downtown branded gift card will work at those merchants that have chosen to participate in the program.  In addition, if a Livermore merchant wants a gift card with their own logo on it, they have the option of doing so as well as being a part of the Livermore Downtown card.

The program allows the organization to coordinate its shops, restaurants, spas and services to have an online gift presence that they did not have before.  "Shopping online has been a huge economic hit against brick and mortar, entrepreneurial locations," comments Jason Wolfe, CEO of GiftCards.com.
