Gigante to Retire as New England Life Care Chief Executive Officer
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine, Aug. 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- New England Life Care announced today that president and chief executive officer Charles Gigante will retire, effective April 30, 2012. The board of directors is conducting an internal and external search for his successor.
Mr. Gigante joined New England Life Care in 1993 as executive vice president and chief operating officer and was selected to serve as president and chief executive officer in 2004. During his tenure the organization has experienced great growth, including expansion to eastern Massachusetts and bringing five significant hospitals into its membership. New England Life Care enjoyed continuous certification by The Joint Commission while under Mr. Gigante's leadership.
