PlaceWise Media to Leverage Industry-leading Gimbal App Publisher Ecosystem to Enhance User Engagement and Relevant Offers in Shopping Malls
SAN DIEGO and DENVER, June 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Gimbal, Inc., the leader in location and proximity-based mobile engagement, and PlaceWise Media, the largest provider of digital media services for the shopping center industry, today announced a partnership to provide Gimbal's proximity engagement services to PlaceWise's client base of mall properties. To better connect and engage with shoppers, PlaceWise will begin by installing Gimbal Proximity Beacons Series 21 across more than 60 premier malls and retail centers by the end of 2015.
The initial phase of deployment, which is already underway, includes 27 PlaceWise client properties. With Gimbal technology, PlaceWise adds beacons to its proximity marketing layer of Wi-Fi and geofencing capabilities. PlaceWise's private digital network of nearly 700 centers nationwide, currently exceeding 10 million monthly visitors, will be able to reach a broader audience of on-premise shoppers through all three components of mobile engagement.
With a complete hardware and software solution, Gimbal provides a means for brands and retailers to utilize physical or digital infrastructure to actively engage with opt-in users. Additionally, the Gimbal digital ownership model associated with its proximity beacons allows PlaceWise to deploy beacons and decide who can use them. This ownership opens up new revenue models, but also gives shoppers the security and protection they want and need.
