Giveback Sports Uses Ticket Profits to Send Less Fortunate Youth to Live Sporting Events
AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Socially-conscious Giveback Sports wants your ticket purchases to mean more. On every sports ticket or travel package you buy from them, a portion of the sale gives kids a chance to experience events and games like you do. In just a few short months, ticket purchases have already fueled giveback events for youth through the University of Texas, the Cincinnati Reds and FC Cincinnati. Over the next six months several more events are scheduled.

"In addition to sending kids to games for the first time, we create unique experiences on top of it," said Scott Ruprecht, Founder and President of Giveback Sports. "We worked with the Reds a few weeks ago on an event that got kids on the field to watch batting practice, sit in a suite for the game, and to meet current Reds player and 2010 MVP Joey Votto. He met and signed a baseball for each child in our group. Unlike other ticket and travel companies that focus solely on investors and stockholders, we focus on creating great experiences for these kids. We just take less money so we can make an impact."
Phil Castellini, COO of The Cincinnati Reds, mentioned, "It was great to work with Giveback Sports on a recent event at Great American Ball Park. We love their mission and look forward to working with them again."
The idea behind Giveback Sports is simple: to take something most people already do (buying tickets) and use that action to benefit others.
"I love that Giveback Sports, like TOMS, is a Profit + Purpose business. When a company leads with 'giving,' customers can engage in such a special way. I look forward to following Scott's continued success!" said Blake Mycoskie, Founder & Chief Shoe Giver, TOMS.
Scott Garrison, of Versailles, Ohio who recently purchased Ohio State tickets for his son's 14th birthday through Giveback Sports' website mentioned, "It was a seamless transaction. And on top of that a few hours later I received an email saying my purchase would help fund a Nov. 19 event with The Austin Spurs. So for me the giveback was tangible and I really liked that."
Seeing the idea become a reality has rewards that are impossible to put a price on. Saddia Kindrick, a student at Westwood Elementary in Cincinnati, said, "Thank you so much for sending me and my classmates to a game. I really appreciated it because I have never been before. I had so much fun."
"You have greatly impacted the lives of 11 boys and girls who attended your event. They not only had a life-changing moment in their lives, they witnessed how to treat people with care, selflessness and respect. Keep impacting lives and making a positive difference in our future leaders," said Rex Currin, a teacher and chaperone at Holy Family School.
