The United Arab Emirates, which absorbed over 45 % of the exports in MY2019/20, is Spain's largest market, followed by China, which accounted for 24 %, up from last year's 20 %.

The APAC region is poised to hold a substantial share in the alfalfa hay market which is expected to drive the market growth of the same. Much of the trade momentum is expected to be contributed by China with imports rising by 24%. The objective is reportedly achieving a production capacity of 5.4 million tons by 2020.
