DUBLIN, October 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Global Automotive Smart Seating Systems Market 2016-2020" report to their offering.
The report forecasts the global automotive smart seating systems market to grow at a CAGR of 8.59% during the period 2016-2020.
One trend spurring growth is the of advent of holistic HMI seats. Rising luxury features in cars increased the comfort level of customers, and increased customer expectations as well. These expectations are keeping seat suppliers busy in developing new technologies for automotive seats. This led to the development of intelligent seat configurations and seat adjustment features, which increased the comfort level of the driver to levels that were not experienced earlier.
According to the report, one driver that will lead to the growth of this market is the recent rise in long-distance travelling and emergence of new mobility modes. Rising long-distance travel by vehicle owners is the other factor influencing the adoption of smart seats. Smart seats are standard fitment in luxury cars and have good potential for adoption in CVs. Luxury cars are expected to continue their adoption of smart seats during the forecast period, and the reduction of price will pave way for mid-segment vehicles too. Increasing focus toward luxury cars is attributed to the comfort level and safety provided by these vehicles for long-distance travelling.
Further, the report states that a major challenge for this market is the low level of customer satisfaction for smart seats. Vehicle seats are among the least likely to encounter problems among the other components of the vehicle, like displays or the exteriors. Research shows that problems with seats are about 7%, while others problems are in double digits. Despite this, vehicle seats show the lowest level of customer satisfaction compared with other components.
