
Global Charity Leaders To Be Honored For Contributions To United Nations Millennium Development Goals.
NEW YORK and ACCRA, Ghana, June 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Voices of African Mothers (VAM), a leading non-governmental organization in special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council, today announced the names of nine recipients of its UN Millennium Development Goals: 2015 Progress Award.
HH Princess Bendar Nauf Al Saud, an Imperial PhD graduate, researcher in ectopic fat, and Founder of LAHD Gallery, Saudi Arabia, is the Distinguished Honoree.
Other honorees are Beverley Bond, Founder, Black Girls Rock; Brenda Myers-Powell, Founder, The Dreamcatcher Foundation; Youssou N'dour, Minister of Culture, Senegal; CNN Anchor Isha Sesay, Founder, We Can Lead; Dawna Michelle Fields, National Program Manager, Colgate Bright Smile, Bright Futures; Laurie Cumbo, NYC Council Member (D-Brooklyn); Danielle Butin, Executive Director, AFYA Foundation; and Jared Genser, Founder, Freedom Now.
"They are being recognized for their leadership and contribution towards the achievement of the eight UN Millennium Development Goals, including women empowerment, universal primary education, maternal health and global partnership for development,'' says VAM's founder, Nana Fosu-Randall.
The award ceremony, the second by VAM, will take place at United Nations Headquarters (New York) on June 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m., with a gala event hosted by Crystal I. Berger of Fox News.
