Global Express Financial Services Partners with Charlotte, N.C. Housing Authority to Offer Innovative Rent Payment Services

SILVER SPRING, Md., May 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- TIO Networks Corp.(TSX-V: TNC) ("TIO"), announced today that Global Express Financial Services, Inc. ("Global Express"), a TIO Networks Company, has partnered with the Housing Authority in Charlotte, N.C., to deliver a greatly enhanced customer experience through a new walk-in cash payments channel.

Demand for more secure and convenient cash payment systems is on the rise. Charlotte is the fourth Housing Authority to launch Global Express's innovative rent payment services. In recent months, Global Express has announced similar partnerships with the Housing Authority Management Offices of Washington, D.C., Richmond, VA and Durham, N.C.

The consumer funded rent payment program was deployed at no cost to the Housing Authority. Instead, residents pay a small transaction fee of $1.25 - saving them the cost and inconvenience of purchasing and mailing a money order. Residents also receive a time-stamped payment receipt and benefit by being able to pay in 21 Global Express payment locations in the area, including the Dareen Communications payment center in the downtown Charlotte Bus Terminal. The convenient locations, coupled with longer business hours, will dramatically improve the rent payment experience for residents.

Previously, Housing Authority residents who wanted to pay their rent in cash were limited to purchasing money orders and mailing or walking them into the main office during standard business hours. Global Express provides cash payment technology designed to save on balancing and labor for the housing offices while increasing convenience and security for residents.

On May 1, 2014 Global Express began rolling out 29 Charlotte Housing Authority properties. More than 2700 units will have access to Global Express cash payment services.

Global Express payment technology continues to gain traction in the emerging rental payment market offering a range of payment channels including cash, credit and debit card services depending on the specific agreement with each Housing Authority or rental management company.
