Global Novations Receives Award In European Best Learning Game Competition
Competition Designed to Help Business Leaders Address Workplace Diversity
BOSTON, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Global Novations, a global consulting firm focused on diversity and inclusion, talent management, and market optimization, received the second place award in LUDUS Project's first annual European Best Learning Game Competition (EBLGC) for its development of "Makrini," an interactive simulation exploring issues of workplace diversity in an interplanetary setting.
Makrini was awarded second place in the "Best Professional Game (>40,000 Euros)" category from over a dozen entries by a panel of judges that included professional game designers, electronic game journalists, and business professionals.
"We are committed to improving diversity awareness in the workplace and we are pleased to offer an educational tool that helps address diversity issues," said Vincent Brown, Managing Partner of Global Novations. "We are excited to see how Makrini can improve diversity knowledge in a virtual setting and enhance individual and organizational productivity."
Makrini is a breakthrough approach to diversity and inclusion training, being the first-ever gaming simulation on the topic. The simulation assigns the learner to a position on a commercial space station where the learner must study and apply diversity and inclusion skills to interact productively with intergalactic associates, and to attain better business results than competitors. At the end of the simulation, the learner returns to Earth for a debriefing to assist with application of the learning to his or her current workplace and role.

The LUDUS project was pioneered to create a European network for the transfer of knowledge and dissemination of best practices in the innovative field of serious games. The project was designed to analyze the state of the serious games industry, bring together interested stakeholders, and support new research and development of serious games.
