Metagenics currently has approximately 150 remote users who connect to corporate resources over a virtual private network (VPN). Most are field sales representatives, although they also include IT staff, contractors, and executive staff. Previously, Metagenics used IPSec VPN for its remote users but because it did not tie in to Active Directory, IT had to create each account manually. Setup time for an account was unacceptable. In comparison, the ease of setup and management was a major advantage of the SonicWALL solution over other competitive alternatives.
