Cambrionix, which designs and manufactures products for mobile device management, was given the award in recognition of achieving substantial growth in overseas earnings and sustained commercial success. It has grown by almost 3,000 per cent since 2009.
The Queen's Award comes just six months after it was placed in the top ten of Deloitte Technology Fast 50 companies.
It is now hoping the recent accolades will help support planned growth in the healthcare and retail industries, both in the UK and abroad.
Cambrionix Founder, Steve Tyson said: "Everyone within our company is ecstatic with the award, which is the highest accolade a UK business can get and is as a result of our hard work and commitment. This award caps an incredible six months for Cambrionix and confirms that we are doing lots of things right. The success is down to the entire team, who have all worked together and made Cambrionix what it is today. The future is looking promising as we embark on journeys to different industries and continue to develop and produce technology to support mobile device management, including the recent USB Type-C standards. Our mission is to be a British company that is recognised as a world leader in our field."
Cambrionix was started in 2007 and designs and creates innovative products and components to charge, transfer data and control mobile devices.
The company has since grown from the two founders and now employs 15 people from its Cambridge offices.
Cambrionix's products are primarily seen in the education industry and used by schools and colleges to recharge and update class tablets overnight with information for lessons the following day.
This year it launched a new device (EtherSync™) that enables the remote management of tablets using existing, familiar tools across local and wide area networks.
"It basically allows someone in one office to remotely update a series of connected devices, through a network, no matter where the devices are in the world, at the same time," added Tyson. "One example could be a retailer HQ updating digital advertising across all of their stores worldwide at the click of a button."
"EtherSync can be used in a wide range of industries and we are very excited about its future success, particularly in our biggest market, America."
