Global Terrorism, Radical Islam, and Vatican Conspiracy Theories Collide in New Spy Thriller
NAPLES, Fla., Dec. 12, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Today's most dangerous wars, which threaten to pull in every man, woman, and child, are borderless, stateless and often defined by radical religious ideologies. A new novel, The Canonical Order, crosses the harsh realities of modern day radical Islam with a fictional Vatican clandestine intelligence apparatus, The Canonical Order, along with its covert action arm, Black Swan. The book was released 23 November 2018.
The Canonical Order is a spy thriller in which ex-CIA paramilitary officer Chad Stryker seeks to disrupt a radical Islamic conspiracy against the Catholic Church. Stryker and his Black Swan operations team use all the resources of the Canonical Order, a secret Catholic Church intelligence organization with roots in the paramilitary Knights of Malta and the intelligence networks of the Jesuits, to prevent the fulfillment of an Islamic prophesy that would change the course of history.
In his mission to stop a larger apocalyptic plot, Vatican Intelligence Operative Stryker struggles to uncover and stay one step ahead of a mole in the Canonical Order. And he does this while searching for the elusive Islamic State mastermind behind a plot to destroy the Catholic Church, an Islamic State leader known as "Che."
South Florida author T.R. Kurtz gave background to the book, "While The Canonical Order is fiction, it draws on historical facts, current events, and real world observations. Groups like the Islamic State threaten not only the most vulnerable, but also exploit distrust and ignorance to further their cause. In the case of ISIS, that cause is global caliphate where all non-believers would be either killed or enslaved."
T.R. Kurtz has worked counterterrorism and counternarcotics issues for the U.S. Government on worldwide assignments. His experiences in Middle East, Far East, East Asia, and Latin America inform the tactics, equipment, and scenarios in his books. The book is available for purchase on Amazon.com, Kobo, and iBooks. A print edition will be available at South Florida book retailers.
