Many vendors are reporting a decrease in IP line license shipments primarily due to a transition from a transactional model, based on perpetual license sales, to a subscription-based model that includes infrastructure, applications, and client licenses. This is helping vendors capture new revenue sources in the premises market, while enabling customers to future-proof their communications and collaboration investments.
- In 2015, premises-based systems IP line licenses and revenues continued to decrease for other reasons, too.
