Mergelas founded and bootstrapped the Pressure Pipe Inspection Company, transforming it from a one-person startup into a global leader in water infrastructure technology, with operations spanning 10 countries and subsidiaries in the U.S. and Mexico. His strategic leadership and relentless focus on innovation led to a highly successful exit, delivering 30%+ CAGR returns to shareholders when it was acquired by Pure Technologies (later acquired by Xylem Technologies).

As CEO of Sunwell Technologies, the world leader in slurry ice systems, Mergelas spearheaded the company's transition from a research-driven organization to a commercially dominant, highly profitable enterprise, driving a 60% increase in revenue and expanding its reach across global markets.

In his role as EVP of Smith Cameron Group, a leading pump and process solutions provider, Mergelas played a pivotal role in the company's strategic growth and successful acquisition by a KKR portfolio company in the U.S. He continued to oversee post-acquisition integration, aligning multiple businesses into a unified powerhouse.
