ROCKVILLE, Md., May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Good50, a user-friendly alternative to Google, created by 16-year-old high school student Sunmee Huh, announced new additional features today.
Good50 features large font in the search box, no text ads at the top of the search results, and a high contrast option for those with low vision. In addition, Good50 donates to charity based on the number of visits.
The Maryland Department of Disabilities Technology Assistance Program quoted Good50 as "A search engine that's making a change!" Huh says, "That is a privilege, but it is true to what Good50 does. The responses we received from visitors were so encouraging."
Huh continues, "Since Good50's launch in January, Google also changed their search input box to have a larger font size on May 15th. That's great news for users but I think there's more that can be done. For example, our internal poll shows that users like Good50's clear separation of text-link advertisements from organic search results."
A full list of Good50's user-friendly features can be found at http://www.good50.com/about.html.
Good50's new features:
- Visitors can now search the web, Wikipedia articles, university websites, or US government websites with one click.
- Good50 has added an email link to the navigation menu at the top so that users can have easy access to Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, Hotmail, and AOL Mail.
- Good50 now gives 5 cents to charity per 50 visits.
Sunmee says "Good50 is based on simplicity and transparency and is for everyone, including school-aged children, families, those who are ages 50+, people with low vision, and those who like contributing to charity."
