Goodman Acker, P.C., Announces Caring For Our Homeless Veterans Benefit Set For Tuesday, November 11 - Veteran's Day
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Oct. 9, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The Law Offices of Goodman Acker is stepping up this Veterans Day to honor and help reduce the problem of Veterans' homelessness. Like many communities around the country, our area has people who are homeless. In Detroit alone, thirty-eight percent of those homeless are our military veterans and many of them said they became homeless for the first time since 2012.
WHAT: Caring for Our Homeless Veterans run/walk and collection drive
WHEN: Tuesday, November 11, from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Runs will take place at 9:30 A.M., 12:30 P.M., 3:30 P.M. and 6:30 P.M.
WHERE: Detroit Tough Gym 1224 Beech Street in Detroit. Those interested in the run/walk, the course is a 2.5 mile route going from the Mariners Inn to the Michigan Veterans Foundation at 2770 Park Avenue, back to Detroit Tough Gym.
WHY: To raise funds and collect goods for our homeless military veterans for the Michigan Veterans Foundation

Throughout the entire event donations of gently used or new clothing, (coats, shoes, etc.,) and non-disposable items will be collected at the event or dropped off – October 10 until November 10th from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M. at Goodman Acker, P.C. 17000 West Ten Mile in Southfield or at Detroit Tough Gym located at 1224 Beech Street.
Tim Horton's, McShane's Irish Pub and Slows Bar-B-Q are donating food on November 11 to people who contribute. The Michigan Veterans Foundation of Detroit is a non-profit agency founded by Veterans that provides a variety of services to veterans.
