Gordmans Stores Selects OLR to Implement Oracle Xstore POS to Drive Omnichannel Growth
OMAHA, Nebraska, October 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Gordmans Stores, Inc. (NASDAQ: GMAN) has engaged with OLR, a leading retail solutions provider, to implement Oracle Retail Xstore Point of Sale (POS) and Oracle Retail Customer Engagement as part of a multi-year program to bring next-generation retailing to the Omaha-based apparel and home décor retailer.
Oracle's Xstore POS (acquired from Micros Retail in 2014) will help Gordmans to speed up the checkout process for its guests through a reduction in manual entry for coupons, discounts, promotions and vouchers. Other key advances include access to real-time inventory levels across both stores and distribution centers. Native integration with Oracle Retail Customer Engagement (formerly Micros Relate CR) will simplify the tracking and offer redemption associated with Gordmans' popular gRewards loyalty program.
"Gordmans is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. We are extremely proud of our heritage in delighting guests with excellent customer service. The Oracle Retail Xstore POS and Customer Engagement solutions will help us to meet the needs of our guests more quickly and accurately, ensuring that their experience at Gordmans is outstanding," stated Richard Heyman, Gordmans' SVP & CIO.
The replacement of Gordmans' current POS system is part of a set of strategic initiatives to deliver a platform to support omni-channel retail. In August, Gordmans successfully launched its e-commerce platform, expanding its presence from 22 states to a national footprint via online shopping at gordmans.com. The department store chain also is focusing on supply chain efficiency, a next generation POS system, improvements to its guest loyalty program, and enhanced brand strategy and positioning.
Dave Barrett, CEO of OLR stated, "Our clients, Gordmans included, need to have the ability to effectively respond to rapidly-evolving consumer expectations. At OLR, we are committed to helping retailers to not only streamline their operations, but to ultimately deliver an outstanding brand experience at every touchpoint."
OLR has had a longstanding partnership with Gordmans. In 2012, OLR played an integral role as system integrator in the successful deployment of the Oracle Retail Merchandising System and they continue to provide managed application services for Gordmans. Heyman stated, "OLR provides Gordmans with a breadth of experience covering the Oracle Retail suite of products and combines it with detailed knowledge of each individual component. We have developed a strong partnership and we have come to rely on their capabilities and counsel."
Barrett continued: "Since OLR began working with Gordmans over five years ago, we've seen them grow almost 40% -- as a partner it's very rewarding to see our clients succeed. We're pleased that our own growth through the expansion into new practice areas, such as point-of-sale, ecommerce and enterprise applications has supported Gordmans in pursuing its vision of success."
