Glen Rice in Miami to Recognize Local Coach for Instilling Positive Post-Exercise Nutrition Habits in Student Athletes
MIAMI, Nov. 10, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Glen Rice and got milk? are teaming up to recognize Coach Ortiz of Coral Reef High School for her outstanding efforts in teaching student athletes about the benefits of post-exercise nutrition.
Glen Rice will be visiting Coral Reef High School on November 10, as part of the Refuel America Grant program, sponsored by the "got milk?" Campaign, which recognizes coaches who've changed their team's recovery game plan to include lowfat chocolate milk to help give teen athletes the competitive edge. There will be a Refuel Rally to honor Coach Ortiz, where the school will be presented with a $1,000 grant to help further exercise and nutrition efforts at Coral Reef High School.
When it comes to performing at the highest level, an athlete's post-game recovery routine is just as important as their pre-game preparation. Experts suggest there's a two-hour recovery window after a game or workout—the best time to refuel and rehydrate your body to keep it in top shape and help you get back in the game.
