GotToGo, New Transportation Service For Teens, Gives Them A Way Out Of Potentially Dangerous Situations

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Your teenage daughter is at a party. No parents are there and the beer is flowing. She's terribly uncomfortable and wants to leave, but knows that calling her parents isn't likely to win her any popularity contests. What can she do?

Now she can contact a new transportation service geared towards teenagers. GotToGo helps teens get out of difficult or dangerous situations. By texting "GTG" to a 6-digit, exclusive code, GotToGo subscribers may ask for a ride. GotToGo's licensed and bonded drivers will quickly and quietly provide a way out of the unsafe situation.

Parents pay a monthly fee of $9.99 or a one time fee of $100 for the year and designate up to four safe locations where their teen may be dropped off. Locations might include their home, grandparents' home, or home of a close family friend. Parents can register for the service at www.gtgamerica.com/get-started.

Founder Andrew Horsey, a father of two, designed the service to help teenagers make responsible decisions and to give parents peace of mind. "If my teenagers felt unsafe in a social situation but didn't want to tell me the details, I'd want them to have someone to turn to," he says. "I know other parents who feel the same way, and that's why I created GotToGo."

GotToGo is available from 9 pm until 1 am on Friday and Saturday nights. The service is designed for teens age 14 to 18. GotToGo drivers are carefully screened, including thorough background checks, driving records and drug testing. Subscribers receive a report every quarter that shows when the service was used.

In addition to teens contacting the service, subscribing parents may also obtain a ride for their teen by calling the dedicated GTG line during regular GTG service hours, or by texting "GTG" to the private short code number.
