Gov. Beebe to Host Verizon Foundation Announcement, on April 14, of Substantial Grant to 'One Economy' for Educational Programs at Three Delta Region High Schools
LITTLE ROCK, Ark., April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Gov. Mike Beebe will host an event Thursday (April 14) at 10 a.m. at which the Verizon Foundation will announce a substantial grant to One Economy to fund its Digital Connectors programs at Dumas, Osceola and Lake Village high schools. The event will be held in the Governor's Conference Room at the state Capitol.

BACKGROUND: This is the Verizon Foundation's second grant to support One Economy's Digital Connectors program at three Delta region high schools. Through the program, students develop leadership skills and receive technology training that provides the skills necessary to compete in today's economy. Students will then volunteer in their communities, offering more than 6,000 hours of service.
