Governor Huckabee Launches Innovative Education Company To Excite Kids About America's Rich History
DANBURY, Conn., May 12, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee announced today the launch of his new educational company, Learn Our History LLC. He co-founded the company to combat major shortcomings in current methods of teaching American history. The new company's mission is to give children of all ages a fun way to learn – and remember – America's most influential stories, without the filters or biases that too often infiltrate history and social studies classes across the country today.
Governor Huckabee will discuss the launch of Learn Our History on The O'Reilly Factor this Friday, May 13th, at 8:00 p.m. on the Fox News Channel.
"America's youth aren't excited about our past because they're being taught history in a way that minimizes what has made America a beacon of hope around the world for over 200 years. Instead, history lessons today often focus on America's faults," said Governor Huckabee. "It's impossible to overestimate the importance of giving our children a historically accurate and unbiased education that allows kids today to enjoy and understand our history, and build their pride in our great nation."
The company's first product is "Learn Our History: Time Travel Academy," an animated film series that teaches kids about America's incredible past by following the adventures of the Time Travel Academy, a group of friends who use a homemade time machine to travel back in time to relive America's history as it happened. The Time Travel Academy video series gives kids the chance to learn about America's most important historical events and figures in a fun and engaging way, free from the political-correctness and personal bias that has seeped into classrooms.
"Learn Our History is producing an impressive list of titles, spanning the earliest events that formed the nation to the latest struggles we grapple with today," said Governor Huckabee. "Each video we produce is developed in cooperation with a respected team of educators and leading historians to ensure both historical accuracy and a learning experience that children will love."
In the first volume in the series, The Reagan Revolution, the Time Travel Academy characters experience historic events like the 1980 presidential election and President Reagan's landmark "Tear Down This Wall" speech in Berlin. Additional videos in the series will focus on major events and figures in US history, such as the Origins of World War II, 9/11 and the War on Terror, The American Revolution, Christopher Columbus and the Great Discovery, and The Mayflower and the First Thanksgiving.
Bradley Saft, Co-Founder and CEO of Learn Our History, said, "Governor Huckabee's ambitious goal to help children understand and appreciate history is being realized through our innovative company. Learn Our History is going to have a major impact on the way that students learn about the story of America and what makes this the greatest country in the world. Our first product, Time Travel Academy, puts parents back in control of their children's education, and it makes kids excited to learn. We guarantee that students will learn and have fun with these films. "
