Governor Mike Huckabee to Visit Taiwan

IRVINE, Calif., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- London International Group is pleased to announce that it will be hosting Governor Mike Huckabee at the Taipei International Convention Center in Taiwan on June 8, 2010.  This will be Huckabee's first Taiwan appearance.  Huckabee served as 44th Governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007 and has been recognized by TIME Magazine as one of the five best governors in America.  He has also been named by Governing Magazine as one of the 'Public Officials of the Year' and received the American Association of Retired Person's Impact Award.

This event, currently named "An Evening with Governor Mike Huckabee" will begin with remarks from the former Governor, followed by a moderated question and answer session.  "Given Governor Mike Huckabee's extensive experience as a public official and well-received recognition as a political commentator, he is the best choice when it comes to speaking on topics relating to Asia.  I believe that Taiwan will welcome his in-depth analysis on today's issues," said Jack Hu, Managing Director of London International Group.  This event is limited to 350 attendees.

Huckabee was elected as lieutenant governor of Arkansas in 1993 by special election and reelected in 1994.  He became governor in July 1996 when his predecessor resigned.  He was one of the youngest governors in the country at the time. Huckabee was elected to a full term as governor in 1998, attracting the largest percentage of the vote ever received by a Republican gubernatorial nominee in Arkansas, and was re-elected in November 2002.  In 2008, Huckabee sought the Republican nomination for President, where he won the first Republican caucus in Iowa, eventually winning the states of West Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Kansas and Louisiana.  

Huckabee currently hosts the very popular weekend political talk show, "Huckabee" and can be heard daily on "The Huckabee Report."
