GovTribe Releases App Aiming To Revolutionize Federal Contracting

ARLINGTON, Va., Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- GovTribe, a technology firm specializing in government data released version 2.0 of its initial product - hord. The iPhone app has been updated to include contract data from 130 federal agencies and to allow users to subscribe to the real time activity of current solicitations, contracting officers, or competitors.  First available on the Apple App Store on January 9, 2012, the release of hord 2.0 follows months of testing with a limited data set.

In building the GovTribe team set out to create a product that simplified the process of competing in the world of government contracting.   By providing access to the real time activity of agencies, offices, people, vendors, projects, and categories, users are able to quickly inform their business development decisions.  

Currently in use by employees at many of the top providers of goods and services to the federal government, hord is revolutionizing the way government contractors pursue and develop business.  GovTribe combines open government data with proprietary technology to deliver an experience within hord that echoes a social network. By adding a person, vendor, agency, or project to his "hord," a user receives ongoing updates on its activity.

In addition to providing real time activity feeds, hord exposes relationships between various entities within the government contracting space. Users also discover important information through "Trends", a real time view of what the larger community is most heavily tracking.
