Grad Coach to Release Free Video Course Detailing How to Write a Thesis or Dissertation
The course will provide students with all the knowledge and skills required to write a high-quality Master's-level dissertation or thesis.
JOHANNESBURG, Aug. 21, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading postgraduate tutoring and support provider, Grad Coach, has announced that they will be developing a completely free, plain language video course covering how to write a high-quality Master's-level dissertation or thesis. The course will be available on the popular Udemy platform, as well as YouTube.
Historically, Grad Coach has provided personalized support to Master's students in the social sciences field. While popular, this service is relatively costly for most students, thereby limiting the number of students who can afford such support. The launch of the free course is intended to fill that gap. Derek Jansen, founder of Grad Coach commented: "We noticed that while many students were getting tremendous value from our services, the clear majority simply could not afford to pay for one on one support. Accordingly, we decided to develop a free digital version which will allow us to help more students in more countries around the world."
According to Jansen, the course will cover the key components of dissertation research and writing, from the early stages of ideation and proposal development, through to literature review, data collection and analysis. In developing the content, Grad Coach has consulted with students, current and past, as well as lecturers and professors. "Essentially, we want to provide a one-stop course where a student can learn everything they need to, without spending hours scouring the web for disjointed and inconsistent information," said Jansen.
The initiative is part of Grad Coach's broader strategy to develop free, high-quality digital format student support content. Most recently, the organization released a free MBA Q&A service, allowing current and prospective MBA candidates to ask questions relating to the MBA degree, from admissions to assignment writing – at no cost. The organization also maintains a blog and YouTube channel which provide actionable advice on topics such as assignment writing and argument development.
