Gradspring Posts More Than 10,000 Jobs for Recent College Graduates
NASHVILLE, Tenn., Nov. 15, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- In a few short months, Gradspring, an online job board, has provided recent college graduates who have less than two years of work experience, access to more than 10,000 professional, entry-level positions with top companies all over the country.
"More than 53% of current college graduates are either unemployed or underemployed so the misconception is that there are no jobs," said Sean Clem, president of Gradspring. "The truth is companies actually have positions to offer but the two audiences haven't had a good matchmaking resource. Gradspring bridges the gap between HR professionals/recruiters and the students seeking qualified career opportunities. Gradspring provides graduates with a way to search for quality positions, while providing employers with a job site to quickly find candidates who are not overqualified in experience or underqualified in education."
Since the site launched in May, more than 3,000 job-seeking users have signed up, and Gradspring is currently adding 300-500 new job postings every day from top companies like CoreLogic, Lockheed Martin and Alliance Bernstein.
"Using Gradspring as part of our recruitment strategy provides us with an opportunity to expand our outreach for entry-level positions," said Sarice Plate, Human Resources Group Director for Cadence® Design System, Inc., a leading global electronic design innovator. "Gradspring's unique search capabilities will help us to effectively identify qualified candidates to join the Cadence team."
After several months of gathering information from recruiters and job seekers on what would enrich the Gradspring experience, Gradspring has just launched a new site featuring a more user-friendly design and improved functionality.
The new site includes significant improvements and new features, such as:
- Enhanced search capabilities
- Video resume hosting
- Robust personal profile builder
- Complimentary resume critique
- Intuitive job recommendations according to the job seeker's preferences
- Webinars and tutorials with professionally created content/curriculum.
"The job search is a daunting and massively time-consuming endeavor, especially for students like me already pursuing an engineering degree with little time to spare, said Christopher Harrison Butsch, a senior at Vanderbilt University. "Gradspring cuts out 95 percent of the noise and allows me to easily explore and apply to top-quality positions without losing focus on my education. Gradspring is the solution to my generation's job search woes."
Unlike other job boards, Gradspring has created a stringent screening process for candidates and companies. Graduates will not find work from home or similar job scam postings and companies will not waste time wading through unsuitable applicants. Gradspring also provides recent graduates career advice, blogs, webinars and tutorials for job seekers.
"Gradspring works because it is different," said Clem. "The difference is like shopping at a superstore versus a boutique. We offer the boutique experience for determined students who are serious about their career."
