CHESTER, N.J., March 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- GraficaGroup, a full-service, integrated digital and traditional marketing agency celebrating its 25th year in business, today announced that its owner Debra Taeschler has been named one of New Jersey's 2011 Best 50 Women in Business.
The Best 50 Women in Business awards program, produced by NJBIZ, honors New Jersey's most dynamic women in business that have been making headlines in their field. To qualify, a nominee had to meet selection criteria that included living or working in New Jersey and holding significant authority for decision making in a for-profit company. An independent panel of judges selected the top 50 winners based on their dedication to business growth, professional and personal accomplishments, community involvement, and advocacy for women.
"This is an outstanding honor and affirmation on several fronts, and I'm thrilled to be chosen alongside so many extraordinary women business leaders in New Jersey," explained Debra Taeschler, president and CEO of GraficaGroup. "In my 25 years of operating GraficaGroup in New Jersey, I've seen a progressive shift in business practices that have resulted in significantly more success and career advancement of women in all levels of New Jersey's business environment. Our success and ongoing mentoring helps pave the way for future New Jersey women business leaders, and that's more important than anything."
As for Ms. Taeschler, she launched her own state-certified, woman-owned company from her home basement in 1986, thus beginning GraficaGroup's ongoing rise and growth into one of the metro area's leading full-service, integrated advertising and digital marketing agencies.
In terms of community involvement, Ms. Taeschler has been personally involved in, or provided GraficaGroup's resources to, many causes such as the American Red Cross, The Michelle Oliva Deady Foundation, The Delbarton School, American Heart Association's Go Red for Women, Joseph E. Enright Foundation - Health Through Education, Boy Scouts of America, Children's Specialized Hospital, Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, The Seeing Eye, Inc., St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center, and more.
Additionally, she is presently planning to organize and host a major September 2011 fundraising/clothing drive for the Morris County chapter of Dress for Success, a non-profit organization that promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support, and career development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
Finally, her advocacy for women is not only visible in her ongoing efforts to actively hire, compensate and promote capable women senior executives to further break through the glass ceiling of the business world, but she also has a far-reaching reputation for mentoring female professionals. As an example, GraficaGroup's internship program consistently receives a 2-1 ratio of female to male applicants. Why? The majority of the female applicants state an insightful reason -- they want to be mentored and learn from one of New Jersey's top successful women business leaders.
NJBIZ and the program sponsors will honor this year's winners during an awards ceremony on Monday, March 28, 2011, at The Palace at Somerset in Somerset, N.J. The honorees will also be highlighted in a special supplement to NJBIZ on April 4, 2011.
