OKLAHOMA CITY, Nov. 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Grammy Award winning singer and Water4 Ambassador, Sandi Patty and Water4, the Oklahoma based non-profit currently leading the world's largest humanitarian well drilling project, kick off the holiday season and invite you to "PURCHASE WITH A PURPOSE". The women and children of Sierra Leone and the Polio Persons Development Association (POPDA), one of the communities that now has access to clean water because of Water4, have created beautiful, handmade limited edition cards that are available exclusively at http://www.water4.org.
With a donation of $40, you will receive four one-of-a-kind holiday cards and each contribution will fund Water4's initiative to create in-country jobs and help eradicate the world's water crisis while directly supporting the community in which they were created.
"Earlier this year, my family and I visited a community for victims of polio in Sierra Leone where my friends at Water4 had installed a water well," said Sandi Patty. "We experienced firsthand the impact that clean water makes in a community and discovered that our disabled friends were handcrafting these beautiful holiday cards. What better way for us to encourage holiday giving then to give the opportunity to raise awareness and give back by sharing these wonderful cards."
Water4 is also aligning with #GivingTuesday, a national day of giving at the start of the annual holiday season, that celebrates and encourages charitable activities that support nonprofit organizations. On December 3rd, Water4 will join the movement as a partner to inspire others to give back while making clean water realistic for even the most remote areas of the world.
"As the holiday season draws near, we are so proud of all that Water4 is doing to raise awareness for the solution to the global water crisis affecting women, men, children, education, the economy, and health, among countless other factors," says Water4 Co-Founder Dick Greenly. "We are proud to invite you to become a part of the solution by supporting our partnerships with #GivingTuesday and the Polio Persons Development Association."
Join Water4 on #GivingTuesday, and throughout the holiday season, by purchasing with a purpose.
Water4, a 501(c)3 public charity based out of Oklahoma City, was founded in 2008 with the mission to not only provide water to at-risk areas but also to teach and provide employment opportunities through their inexpensive pumps and drilling methods. While numerous organizations are helping to solve the global water crisis, few, if any, approach and execute the process of providing water quite like Water4 does. It gets nationals involved in the future of their home village's water issues. As a result of their new vocation they are engaged daily in fixing the water problems as well as helping their village and themselves find new ways to prosper.
