FALLBROOK, Calif., Aug. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Grand Tradition Estate and Gardens has a special connection to the San Diego Ronald McDonald House which is why they chose them as the beneficiary of the Jazz and Wine in the Gardens signature event that will take place on Saturday, September 21st, 2013.
Little Daniel was so young when he had to have open heart surgery in San Diego. His mother, Tina Schultz is a propagator and nursery woman for Grand Tradition Gardens in Fallbrook, which made the daily trips to see her son so time-consuming. Her entire family wanted to be there with Daniel and to support Tina, so it was with gratitude they learned of Ronald McDonald House in San Diego. There they all stayed for more than a week while Daniel was hospitalized.
"We wanted to be together during that emotional time," said Tina. "It provided a warm, supportive environment that enabled our other children to work on their school assignments while away from home."
Lisa McArthur works as a concierge for Grand Tradition. In 2000 her daughter was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia rarely found in children. In order to survive, she needed a bone marrow transplant. Once one was found, the year-long recovery began.
Lisa took a one month leave from her job to stay by her daughter's side, all the while residing at the nearby Ronald McDonald House. "This allowed me to be within a quick walk from her bedside. Ronald McDonald House was quite a gift during a heart-wrenching time in our lives."
This personal connection was part of the reason that Grand Tradition Estate & Gardens decided to dedicate a portion of the proceeds from their first signature Jazz and Wine in the Gardens to the San Diego Ronald McDonald House. The concert will feature world-renowned jazz musicians Jeff Lorber, Paul Brown, Brian Simpson, Michael Paulo, Spencer Day, Max Bennett and Lori Andrews.
