MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 5, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Gray Plant Mooty, the oldest Minnesota law firm founded in Minneapolis, is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2016 with a yearlong focus on service befitting an institution that has been woven into the fabric of the community since 1866.

From One-Man Practice To National Player
In the summer of 1866, Charles H. Woods – a New Hampshire lawyer – came to the new town of Minneapolis and established a one-man legal practice. He noted that the 10-year-old settlement was poised to become a critical business capital of the region.
Woods proved prophetic and, over the next 150 years, Gray Plant Mooty grew with the city's burgeoning business community and into national prominence. The full service law firm now has more than 180 attorneys across offices in Minneapolis, St. Cloud, Minn., Fargo, N.D., and Washington, D.C.
