Green Homes Builder Blu Opens 80,000 Square-Foot Manufacturing Facility in Western Massachusetts

WALTHAM, Mass., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Blu Homes, Inc. today announced it officially opened an 80,000 square-foot manufacturing facility in East Longmeadow, Mass.  Congressman Richard E. Neal, East Longmeadow Selectman Jim Driscoll and Mass. State Rep. Brian Ashe participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony this week to mark the opening.  Blu builds modern, healthy, green buildings for commercial and residential use and previously manufactured in Littleton, Mass.

Blu's break-through computer modeling, unique folding technology and unusual use of a hybrid steel and wood frame allows it to manufacture buildings that are larger and more durable than any other factory-built homes and commercial spaces.  Blu buildings can be affordably shipped anywhere in the country from its Massachusetts facility and can be installed and finished within a matter of days.

Selectman and Chairman of the East Longmeadow Green Committee Jim Driscoll noted, "This is great for East Longmeadow and the Springfield area.  Blu is bringing green jobs that are good for the economy and the environment."  Blu currently employs 45 employees, up from five one year ago, with 15 of them in the East Longmeadow facility.
