ST. LOUIS, Jan. 28, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenleaf Capital Partners, a St. Louis-based merchant banking firm, is pleased to announce that Doss Cunningham has joined the firm as a Principal.
"Doss is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the country, and he will play an instrumental role in Greenleaf's fundraising, investment, and portfolio management activities," said Colin Smith, Principal of Greenleaf.
In 2012, Greenleaf invested in Smith McGehee Insurance Solutions (SMIS), a global risk management and employee benefits firm, and American Testing & Inspection Services (ATIS), a startup that is now the second largest elevator inspection business in the country. Greenleaf's latest investment was in Risk Consulting Partners, an insurance services firm founded by former executives of AON Risk Services of the Americas, Tim Danis and Curt Engler. SMIS and Risk Consulting Partners have entered into a strategic relationship to better serve their respective clients and collectively build long-term value.
Doss Cunningham is an entrepreneur, investor, and senior executive with over 10 years of executive management experience in the consumer products industry, and is currently serving as President and CEO of a nutraceutical company with annual sales exceeding $150 million. "I am excited to be joining Greenleaf to help execute its investment strategy," said Cunningham. "They have experienced early success, and I am confident that the collective resources and talent at Greenleaf and its portfolio companies will prove to further this trend."
"Greenleaf seeks to partner with passionate and proficient owners/management teams who want to invest in and grow their business," said Chip Smith, Principal of Greenleaf. "Our current investments have been experiencing tremendous growth, and we are excited by the opportunities to continue their progress and by the new investment prospects that are being surfaced. To facilitate the execution of a more robust investment strategy, we are preparing to launch a formal fundraising campaign and will likely target an additional raise of $10-15 million from accredited investors only, with Greenleaf intending to fund approximately twenty percent of the total amount raised."
