MIAMI, Sept. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenspoon Marder is opening a new Miami Beach office and expanding its statewide services with the addition of Louis J. Terminello and his group of 12 alcohol industry professionals.
The addition of Terminello's group, effective October 1, will increase the firm's alcohol practice to include 8 lawyers, 4 regulatory consultants and 11 alcohol licensing professionals, making it one of the larger dedicated alcohol industry practice groups in the country.
Robert F. Lewis, who currently chairs the firm's group, helped facilitate the move and welcomes Terminello as a shareholder and co-chair.
"Lou and I realize the benefit of working under the same roof to service a growing client base and the need for regulatory guidance in this area," Lewis said. "I started working with Lou right out of law school, and while we have worked apart for many years, we have continued to rely on each other's experience as practitioners and former law enforcement officials to service an innovative industry that often needs to test the limits of established laws and regulations with each new concept."
Greenspoon Marder Law launched the Alcohol Beverage Group earlier this year. The Group represents domestic and foreign alcohol industry members on legal issues that are unique to the industry, including alcohol licensing and business permitting, land use approvals, trade practice regulations, government lobbying and litigation matters.
"Our focus is on expanding areas that enhance the firm's established commercial and transactional practices," said Gerald Greenspoon, the firm's Co-Managing Director. "Amplifying our existing alcohol practice with Lou and his teams in Miami and Miami Beach further supports our strategic plan to expand our dedication to servicing our clients in statewide and national markets. His contribution will be significant and we are proud to have facilitated this reunion."
Terminello first served the alcohol industry as a regulator with the State of Florida's Division of Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco in Miami for over 10 years before graduating from the University of Miami School of Law in 1990. Lou will be joined by three other attorneys including associates Adrienne Grandolfo, Joshua Remedios and Senior Attorney James E. Rauh. Rauh and Grandolfo will be based in the Miami Beach office.
"I have been fortunate to develop a comprehensive practice and team that services all three tiers of the alcohol industry including various hotels, restaurants, nightlife venues, package stores, wholesalers and importers," Terminello said. "This transition is a big change, but one with great opportunity. Rob and I are formalizing an ongoing collaboration and integrating our resources in an effort to advance our industry and our client services. Greenspoon Marder Law provides a solid platform for our group to extend its reach and grow a practice area that serves a vastly diverse industry."
Terminello will move into the firm's Miami office, which will house several other key practice areas such as commercial litigation, criminal law and real estate.
