Greenway Design Group Announces Test Installation for Pepsi Bottling Facility
Pepsico Bottling facility begins test of Cool-n-Save pre-cool systems at a facility in Tulsa-OK.
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif., June 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenway Design Group, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: GDGI) today confirmed that its dealer in Oklahoma City-OK has begun a test of a Cool-n-Save system at the Pepsico facility in Tulsa-OK.
According to the dealer and Greenway's engineer, the test will begin this week and continue for two weeks to demonstrate Cool-n-Save's effectiveness in saving energy from commercial air conditioning.
"We expect the test at this facility to produce the same significant reduction in energy consumption as we have demonstrated for almost seven years," says Darius Jakubik, the senior vice president from the company's corporate offices in Huntington Beach-CA. "Greenway's commercial customers experience between 22 and 33 percent reduction in energy use from air conditioning during peak cooling seasons."
Jakubik explains that excess outdoor heat is a problem for most air conditioning systems. "The more heat there is, the less efficiently AC systems work and the more energy they use. Cool-n-Save's job is to reduce the temperature of outdoor air as it is being blown through the condensing coils," he says.
According to one paper published by Colorado Springs Utilities, air conditioning will use 25 percent less energy when outdoor temperatures are at 70 degrees F than it will at 95 degrees.
"Our own field studies confirm this observation," says Jakubik. "We have seen the same results, whether high humidity or low. Cool-n-Save can save a significant amount of money from energy consumption of air conditioning and earn back the cost of installation and maintenance for the first year in about 12 months."
Greenway markets their pre-cool technology under the trademark "Cool-n-Save." Independent studies field studies (in Nevada and Costa Rica) show that Cool-n-Save evaporative pre-cooling systems may produce energy cost savings as high as 30 percent, with an average savings of about 26 percent from air conditioning use during peak heat seasons. The company has been developing pre-cool misting technology since 2005. Greenway received a "green engineering" award co-sponsored by TechAmerica and Harvey Mudd College in 2011.
