Greenworks Lending from Nuveen Closes Massachusetts' First C-PACE Project
DARIEN, Conn., Sept. 7, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Greenworks Lending from Nuveen, the nation's leading C-PACE capital provider dedicated to funding energy performance-enhancing commercial, multi-family and non-profit real estate projects, announced today that it has closed the first C-PACE project in the state of Massachusetts under MassDevelopment's recently launched C-PACE program. An office building at 56 Bank Row in Greenfield, MA, with the Northwestern District Attorney Office as its primary tenant, will be the first property in the state to utilize C-PACE financing.
C-PACE provides property owners and developers access to low-cost, long-term, fixed-rate financing for energy efficiency, water conservation, and renewable energy projects. The property will receive $450K in C-PACE financing for several energy efficient measures, including lighting, HVAC, building envelope, as well as the installation of a 36.8 kW solar photovoltaic system on its roof. These measures are estimated to save the property owner over $1.1M throughout the expected life of the installed measures.

In addition, C-PACE complemented our other forms of financing which included both State and Federal Historic Tax Credits.
