DUBLIN, Ohio, Nov. 23, 2010 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dublin City Council is expected to adopt legislation at the December 6, 2010 City Council meeting naming Interim City Manager Marsha Grigsby as Dublin's next city manager.
During a special meeting on Monday, November 22, Dublin City Council directed staff to prepare legislation to formally appoint Grigsby as City Manager. The terms of the agreement will include:
- $180,000 annual base salary
- annual longevity incentive of 7% at the end of year one, 10% at the end of year two and 15% at the end of year three
On September 11, Council appointed then Deputy City Manager/Director of Finance Grigsby to serve as Interim City Manager, following the departure of City Manager Terry Foegler. Grigsby served as Interim City Manager on two prior occasions from December 2001 to August 2002 and from September 2008 to February 2009.
Grigsby's salary as deputy city manager/finance director was $131,832; she received a 30% pay supplement in September in recognition of performance of both duties during the interim period. She has been with the City of Dublin for 21 years. She was hired as the Assistant Finance Director in September 1989 and promoted to Director of Finance in June 1991.
"Marsha's long tenure with the City of Dublin, her proven experience as a three-time interim city manager and her conservative approach to fiscal management were among the reasons Grigsby was chosen to serve as Dublin's fourth city manager," said Mayor Tim Lecklider.
Council worked with The Novak Group, an organizational management consulting firm, to analyze options, facilitate the internal discussion process and to identify and prioritize the desirable characteristics of Dublin's next city manager.
"It was clear to all of council that the best candidate for the job already was serving the Dublin community," said Lecklider. "There was no need to look further. Marsha has the full confidence of City Council."
