ENCINITAS, Calif., Aug. 19, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- It is well known that young people in today's day and age have significant struggles to face and overcome. One of the greatest obstacles of growing up in the midst of an opioid addiction epidemic is how to make it through one's youth without falling prey to the disease of addiction. Seemingly innocent is how it starts. A young man or woman has a few drinks with friends. Nothing bad happens and in fact they find that they have enjoyed themselves. All of a sudden the forewarnings of authority figures begin to lose significant credibility and further exploration into drug use begins to become a possibility. For some this exploration is abandoned and they move on with their lives. For others it unlocks a physiological and psychological dependency on drugs that can have devastating consequences, up to and all too often including death.
This growing issue among the youth of today is often cited with few effective solutions. Enter Generation Found, an independent film by the makers of the very popular The Anonymous People, that examines revolutionary recovery strategies for working with young people in various settings including recovery based high schools and collegiate recovery support programs. These programs are an actual answer to the problem and offer a positive, health conscious approach to substance use disorders. It shows and highlights success, where the "War on Drugs", which had attacking and negative perspectives, was an utter failure.
Generation Found is only being shown in exclusive theaters and only when hosted by interested community supports who are acting as Captains or hosts. On September 14th, 2016, the City of Encinitas, CA is going to be one of the very fortunate locations that this film is being brought to. The historic La Paloma theater is going to be the setting for this crucially important film. The hosts of the film will be listed at the end of this article with appropriate contact information provided as well. Each of the hosts will also be hosting a question and answer panel session following the film to address audience questions and comments as all of them have unique and expert level knowledge in the addiction treatment field.
