Grupo Aeromexico Transported One Million 239 Thousand Passengers in October
MEXICO CITY, Nov. 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Grupo Aeromexico S.A.B de C.V. ("Aeromexico") (BMV: AEROMEX), the largest intercontinental airline in Mexico, reports its operating statistics for October.
In October 2011, Grupo Aeromexico transported one million 239 thousand passengers; the highest number for the month of October in the Company's history. This represents a 2% increase compared to the prior year, despite the significant increase in passengers transported in October 2010. International passenger traffic grew 32% in October 2011, while domestic passenger traffic decreased 6% year over year. During the first ten months of the year, Grupo Aeromexico transported a total of 11 million 804 thousand passengers; a 24% increase over the number registered for the same period in 2010.
Demand in October, measured in Revenue Passenger Kilometers (RPKs), grew 9% year over year. Capacity, measured in Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs), registered a 15% increase. The load factor for October was 78.3%. The cumulative load factor for the first ten months of the year was 78.5%.

- "Load Factor" equals the number of passengers transported as a percentage of the number of seats offered. It is a measure of the airline's capacity utilization. This metric takes into account the total passengers transported and total seats available in itinerary flights.
- "Passengers" refers to the total number of passengers transported by the airline.
