Grupo Financiero Interacciones Reports 13.18% ROE in 1Q15

MEXICO CITY, April 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Grupo Financiero Interacciones, S.A. de C.V., (BMV: GFINTERO), ("Grupo Financiero Interacciones" or "GFI"), the largest specialized Mexican financial group with a business model focused on providing financing, risk management and financial advisory services mainly to the Mexican public sector, today announced results for the three-month period ended March 31, 2015.

Mr. Carlos Rojo Macedo, Chief Executive Officer of Grupo Financiero Interacciones, commented: "We are very pleased with GFI's performance during the first quarter of the year, as we captured additional business opportunities than a year ago. We achieved an ROE of 13.18% with net income of Ps.409 million supported by a strong loan origination coupled with healthy level of commissions. Moreover, financial margin also contributed to results, expanding by 14.39% YoY while keeping a healthy asset quality with a non-performing loan ratio of 0.15% in the quarter."

"Our results this quarter mirror the embedded seasonality of our business model as states and municipalities get prepared to absorb additional debt to finance infrastructure projects based on their internal project agenda."

In order to increase our term of liabilities and improve our funding structure, we also successfully placed a Ps.1.5 billion debt issuance of "Certificados Bursatiles" with a 4.5 year term. Additionally, driven by the opportunities we are seeing now in our markets, with a stronger level of activity in infrastructure financing above that of a year ago, we decided to look for an economic means of enhancing our capital position and decided to issue a 10 year sub – debt bond, increasing our total capital ratio by close to 1%. With this last new issuance we feel very comfortable with our position to take on the opportunities in the upcoming quarters."
