
GTA to Host First 'Visit North America' Road Show of its Kind in China
LONDON, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- GTA by Travelport, one of the world's leading wholesalers of ground content, announced this week that GTA Americas is hosting a 'Visit North America Road Show' in China this June. The road show, to be held in Shanghai and Beijing between 21 and 26 June, will bring together North American representatives of convention and visitors bureaus (CVBs), destination marketing organizations (DMOs) and travel suppliers in a single forum. Destination presentations and networking seminars form part of the road show which will be attended by top sales and operations staff from leading travel agencies and GTA customers in China.
"North America is an increasingly popular destination for Chinese tourists and this is the first time a travel wholesaler has hosted a number of major North American companies in a single forum in China," says Richie Karaburun, president of GTA Americas Inbound. Traditionally, road shows in China are organized by a single CVB or airline to showcase their particular region or travel product. The GTA 'Visit North America Road Show' also coincides with two other major annual travel events in China for tourism professionals – IFCOT2010 (The 6th International Forum on Chinese Outbound Tourism) and BITE 2010 (The 7th Beijing International Tourism Exposition). Presenters and guests of the GTA road show are welcomed in joining GTA as special guests at the BITE 2010 event as well as at IFCOT2010 where Karaburun will be presenting on long-haul travel to North America.
