Guardian Business Solutions, Inc. Releases Paperless Shop Packet App for Smartphones and Tablets

BROOKFIELD, Wis., June 26, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Guardian Business Solutions, Inc. has released Paperless Shop Packet the fourth app in its Smartphone/Tablet library of Mobilize-IT™ Enterprise apps.  This easy to use app allows workers to display shop order information on low cost Android and iOS devices. The Mobilize-IT system incorporates the use of native applications that leverage device capabilities and a middleware framework designed to handle data synchronization and application management. Other available apps include Inventory Count, Inventory Transfer, and Quality Inspection Capture with Labor Reporting, P.O. Receiving and Order Picking planned for release later in 2013.

Paperless Shop Packet is designed specifically for the shop floor worker to display shop order information such as: routings, parts, drawings, quality info, set up instructions, video clips and pictures. Documents and pictures are listed by order number or part and immediate available for display. By tapping on the screen you can display just about any type of file (e.g., Word, Excel, pdf, pictures) or video clips available on your Android or iOS device .The system searches for the most current information and latest revisions, eliminating the need to update and print paper travelers and maintain work order binders. You can realize immediate and tangible savings alone on paper and printer maintenance while adding to sustainable and green initiatives. The user screens are easy to use and fast to operate reducing training time to a minimum.

Within each of the Mobilize-IT applications you can indicate which data elements will contain the information needed to accurately query the network to know what documents are relevant for your need. For example, if you store your CAD drawings on the network using the part number as the name of the document; the system can be told to look for the documents with part number in the name. This can apply to not only the drawings but any pictures, videos, etc. The middleware automatically links documents and updates the references as new documents are added and older documents are changed or replaced. The middleware searches the network for the most current information and graphically displays the information to the operator.
