Guinness Exploration Reports on Nantawa Project Site Inspection
WELLINGTON, New Zealand, May 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --Guinness Exploration Inc. ('Guinness') (OTC Bulletin Board: GNXP) has reported senior staff has completed a three day site visit to Whitehorse, Yukon, which included site inspection of the Nantawa Project.
Guinness Chief Geologist John Hiner explained, "Our three member geological team visited Whitehorse and the Nantawa Project mineral claim sites during the last week of April. The purpose of this trip was to inspect the Mt. Nansen Property, determine field conditions, and finalize or move forward with contracts for field geologists, camp operations, equipment operators, and logistical support. We covered a lot of bases and overall this was a very successful trip."
Mr. Hiner also noted, "In terms of our field program timeline, snow cover is still substantial, and road conditions are marginal. As a result, we're now targeting our camp set-up to be late May and will be monitoring this closely." Mr. Hiner continued, "We're also pleased that Coast Mountain Alaska Geological LLC has assigned two highly experienced staff who joined us on this trip to act as Project Manager and Head Office Geological Support. Generally speaking, we're confident our critical path is on track."
A summary of the team's findings is as follows:
- A Yukon Camp Manager and a Camp Operator have been identified and contracts are now being formalized with each
- Camp materials are under assembly. Two twenty-foot shipping containers will be utilized to move materials by truck from Vancouver to Whitehorse, where a local company will store them until required
- Final contract negotiations are underway with a Drill Contractor
- A Machine and Equipment Operator have been identified and contract negotiations are underway
- We've identified a nearby hotel and a food and sundries supplier in Carmacks, Yukon who can meet our requirements
- We have acquired access on the proposed camp site to an artesian well water source
- We have identified two airlines who provide service which meets our requirements
- We were able to obtain survey and other data which will allow us to accurately locate claims and other features on the ground
- We met with Yukon regulatory officials at the Mining Recorder's Office and have initiated the permits process. We have confirmed that we can operate initially under a Class I permit, which allows for establishment of camp, field activities, and drilling under the provision that no ground is disturbed.
- Field geologists have been identified and contracted for the season
