Hackster Hits the Road in Search of the Best New Hardware Developers in the US
SAN FRANCISCO, March 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Hackster, the online hardware creation platform is hitting the road for Hackster Hardware Weekends. From Seattle to Boston, more than 1,000 hardware developers will spend two days learning, sharing and building. In the end, one team from each event will walk away with a $1,000 prize and one grand prize winner will take home $10,000 for the best use of Microsoft Azure.
With the help of partners such as Intel, Freescale, SparkFun, Microsoft and SoftLayer, Hackster is helping makers build internet connected devices that will change how we work, play, and live.
Hackster is also giving participants a chance to hack something they've never hacked before – a real DeLorean.
"No one has been able to turn our DeLorean into a working time machine, yet," said Hackster co-founder Adam Benzion, "but we've already seen some incredibly innovative ideas and we're looking forward to seeing what the other developers will come up with as we continue our tour."
Hackster kicked off Hardware Weekends in Seattle and Portland. The next stop is San Francisco on March 14; into Los Angeles on March 21 then on to Phoenix, Louisville, Dallas, Pittsburgh, New York City and Boston.
In total, Hackster will be handing out more than $30,000 in cash and prizes while providing an immeasurable amount of inspiration and experience.
