HACR Recognizes Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers™ for Seventh Consecutive Year
WASHINGTON, May 30, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR) recognized 33 young professionals at the 2013 HACR Young Hispanic Corporate Achievers™ (YHCA) Program in Houston, TX. The awards ceremony reception, held at the Four Seasons Hotel in late April, was sponsored by The Altria Group and MillerCoors.
"It was a great honor to participate in this year's YHCA event. What struck me most about the event was the sheer energy and talent represented by the amazing young leaders who were recipients of the award this year," said David Fernandez, Altria's senior assistant general counsel. "I left the event highly optimistic not only about the future of our community, but about the future of Corporate America – diversity and inclusion is not only important for the individual leaders who thrive because of it, but to the companies that embrace it and gain strength from it."
The annual program recognizes 25 to 35 young Hispanics at Fortune 500 and/or HACR corporate member companies. Once selected, the young executives participate in an intensive three-day leadership development, education, and training program.
To qualify for the HACR YHCA Program, candidates must be of Hispanic origin, between the ages of 25 to 40 at the time the award is received, and must also be employed at Fortune 500 and/or HACR corporate member companies.
Winners are selected based on their demonstrated leadership qualities, achievements within their respective corporations, and proven commitment to the Hispanic community.
"We are very proud of our 2013 HACR YHCAers," HACR President & CEO Carlos F. Orta said. "YHCAers are leading the way at their companies and serve as role models for other young Fortune 500 executives."
