Haggar To Give Back To Veterans With Pant Recycling Event At Belk Stores
- Haggar helps Purple Heart Service Foundation gather gently used clothing for resale to benefit veterans and their families in need
- Customers urged to donate pants to help veterans and their families through Haggar's annual charity promotion
DALLAS, Nov. 6, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Haggar Clothing Co. announces the fifth anniversary of its national pant trade-in promotion benefiting The Purple Heart Service Foundation. This year's event will be held in partnership with all Belk stores running Wednesday, November 7th through Saturday, November 10th.
The goal of this event is to have customers bring in any brand of gently worn pants to a Belk store that will in turn be donated to The Purple Heart Service Foundation. The foundation then sells the donated items at their resale locations and uses the funds to aid veterans and their families in need. Everyone recycling pants during this promotion will be able to purchase any new Haggar® casual or dress pant for just $24.99.
"This promotion is Haggar's way of giving to those who have given so much for our country," said Tim Lyons, president of Haggar. "We encourage everyone to join us and participate in this effort to show appreciation for those veterans who have served us over the years."
"The Military Order of the Purple Heart and its Service Foundation are greatly indebted to Haggar for this brilliant annual event. Last year, over 10,000 pairs of pants were donated during the trade-in event and then resold through Purple Heart Thrift Stores. The monies gained from these sales allowed the MOPH to provide advice and assistance to some 74,000 veterans and their families with the countless agencies of the US Government," said Bruce McKenty, National Commander, Military Order of the Purple Heart.
This pant recycling offer is only good November 7th through 10th, 2012 at all participating Belk stores. Offer is not valid on haggar.com, belk.com or at any outlet or factory store locations.
