Hair Loss Specialists Publishes Article about British Study's Correlation between Higher Salaries and Hair Loss

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Oct. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Hair Loss Specialists published an article about a recent study, carried out on behalf of L'Oreal Professional, which discovered that Brits who earn at least $125,000 are more likely to attribute their hair thinning to work stress than those who earn just $24,000.

Published in The Telegraph, the survey of 2,000 adults found that about 75 percent of women think that stress is the main cause of their hair loss, with one third admitting to personally experiencing thinning hair. Men believed that genes were more likely to cause their loss, but 50 percent considered work pressure an additional factor. High earners of both genders were more likely than those with small wages to blame their work stress for their hair loss.

"One in five Britons taking home a salary of more than £75k a year blamed work stress for hair thinning, compared to just one in ten of those earning up to £15k," The Telegraph reported.

According to Adam Reed, the co-founder of Percy & Reed salon, stress-induced hair loss exists for both genders.

"British women are facing increasingly stressful lives as they struggle to balance work-life pressures and their hair is suffering as a result," Reed told The Telegraph. "This research leaves little doubt that stress is currently the biggest factor facing women when it comes to their thinning hair."
